"We provide a service which helps to prevent people from being and feeling isolated while enhancing their ability to access, participate and live in their community longer. We foster a sense of independence, self-worth, and overall, a better quality of life."
The M.E.L. Society came about when Alberta Health Services put in place a policy that had all the medical equipment that had previously been lent out to clients through the Home Care Program no longer an active program. The Directive to Facilities was to gather all their equipment and send it to a lending program that operated as a not for profit in Red Deer Alberta and also to the Red Cross Organization in the rest of the province.

Who is Victor Ringuette?
Aside from being the principle owner of B&R Eckel's Transport Ltd., Victor is The M.E.L. Society's Landlord.
Since 2017, every time we ran into some funding issues, Victor has been very supportive through donations which have allowed us to continue operations. Also, through his generosity, it has given us the time needed to secure more long-term funding in order to keep our doors open & continue to support our community.
Thank-you, Victor, for helping us help others. Your compassion & dedication to our cause knows no limits and we appreciate every little bit.
